Alpine French School, the Morzine based language centre for adults and children, has announced a plan to run its summer camps during 2021 online, in the event that international travel isn’t possible or challenging.
The French Summer Camps and Summer Holiday Courses, based in the French Alps, are available for children, teenagers and families. The camps have helped hundreds of children over the years to learn French in a fun environment and then also take part in adventure activities during the afternoons. There’s residential, day and family options available.
However since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic with travel restrictions in place, some families and children are unable to travel to France, so Alpine French School has decided to bring its French Summer Camps and courses directly into homes on a virtual basis, wherever students are in the world.
If Travel Is Possible
New for 2021 – a modern accommodation centre for the residential camp, situated just on the edge of Morzine is located within walking distance of the school, activities and amenities. The modern spacious bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and charging points place the accommodation centre in what is more comparable to a 2 or 3 star hotel than the traditional children’s outward bound centre offering.
Also launching during 2021 are new programmes that run alongside existing adventure activities such as swimming, horse-riding and hiking for the younger kids and white-water rafting, climbing and mountain biking for the older age group. The new activities include, biathlon, paddle-boarding, mountain zip line and quad biking, helping to ensure that children and teenagers enjoy the best possible activities during their time in the French Alps.
Summer Camp Options Morzine 2021
Day Camps (5-17 year olds): from 505€ per week for lessons and activities.
Family Camps: from 1,910€ per week for family accommodation and full days of lessons and activities for 2 children.
Residential Camps: 11-17 year olds. 2,360€ all-inclusive for 2 weeks.
Virtual Summer Camps Summer 2021
6-13 year olds divided into age groups:
2 x 45 minutes Interactive French Workshops per day, Monday to Friday (5 days)
2 x 45 minutes Fun Activities in French per day, Monday to Friday (5 days)
14-17 year olds divided into age groups:
2 x 45 minutes Interactive French Workshops per day, Monday to Friday (5 days)
2 x 45 minutes Exam Preparation workshops per day, Monday to Friday (5 days)
300€ per week, per child (discount of 50€ for siblings from the same household)
Online French courses for juniors are already available.
Notes for editors: there’s a maximum group size of 6 children for the virtual summer camp sessions. They will run due to demand and if families either cannot travel to Morzine this summer or are finding it difficult to do so, and would like to book the virtual camp as an alternative, then they will run.
