Les Gets Has Launched Its New Summer Programme

As well as hosting the mountain bike world cup event in July, Les Gets has a number of other events and activities to participate in during a busy summer that grew around its bike park – connected to the PdS (Portes du Soleil) area, one of the world’s largest mountain bike parks with 650 km’s of trails – but now offers so much more.

For those looking for gentler cycling, 5 e-bike trails are available for different levels of riding, from green and blue, to red and black. Totalling 52 km’s of trail, the e-bike offer is growing all the time and there’s now 34 itineraries and 300 km’s of total trail across the PdS area.

Other events include the Pass’Portes du Soleil, where thousands of mountain bikers and hikers take part in three days (June 28-30) of riding and walking on various itineraries and events and Alambike, a friendly mountain bike team relay race that spans 24 hours (September 7-8).

A new summer Dog Karting experience has launched, allowing hikers to connect with dogs that can pull them along on a specially adapted kart on wheels. Prefer to just look at the animals? Then a new guided birdwatching walk has been created to spot resident eagles and vultures up in the mountains.

This is just a few of the highlights from a packed summer programme that offers something for those searching for adventure and those looking for something more relaxing.

Portes du Soleil MULTIPASS – for €3 per person, per day, the MULTIPASS provides pedestrian access to the mountain lift system plus a host of other activities such as the Lac des Ecole activity centre, Museum of Mechanical music and the golf driving range.

Also open throughout the summer: Alta Lumina Forest Park, 4 season luge ride, mountain golf course and GETLIBS’ rental e-bikes.

Les Gets also has a strong sustainability track record and on-going programmes with initiatives including local buses running on rapeseed renewable fuel, e-bike rental stations, waste reduction programme and ‘cigarette free zone’ on the mountain area, 13 municipal buildings that are wood-fire supplied, the zero paper tourist office and much more.
